The breweries and pubs in Bangalore are quite westernized with amazing woody interiors and decor. Not all of them are high-end though, there are some mediocre ones too. 

Regardless, they all are great for having a good time with great beer and good food. You can find a pub in every corner of the city – from Koramangala to UB city, Indiranagar, MG road, Banashankari, Whitefield, and more. India’s largest cocktail bar brings 200 kinds of cocktails to the table at The Reservoire. Not just any cocktails, but Manhattan style! The interior has that New York City bar vibes. With long tables, brick walls, high ceilings and the large windows that offer a spectacular view of Bangalore make up for the trendy interior and well lit, inviting ambience. One of Bangalore’s favourite’s pub, Watson’s has a friendly ambience, spacious seatings and well-ventilated interiors. You can find retro posters on the wall and the overall place screams great vibes. Seatings that are arranged by the windows offer a great view of the Ulssor lake and the trees lining its banks. This and the music played at the bar makes it one of the best watering holes in Bangalore. 

Their draught beer is a popular favourite. Most of the liquor here are reasonably priced and their signature cocktails are potent and fresh. The food at Watson’s is quite satisfying and goes well with the beer. Must try their chicken ghee roast and kathi rolls, cheezling bhel, Nethili Fish fry and a variety of thin crust pizzas. For the dessert, try the cheesecake, it’s sure to leave your taste buds in awe!

The famous brewpub was founded by three school friends Sibi Venkataraju, Arun George and Mukesh Tolani who partnered with Glen Williams, the guy who runs  The Sweet Chariot food chain Bangalore. Since it was founded, Toit has garnered a massive following that makes it hard to find a table on weekends. You can taste all the Toit beers for Rs 150 before you order one.

Apart from beers, they also serve hard liquor at reasonable prices, signature cocktails, and wine. Toit is quite serious about the food and lives up to their reputation by hearty, delicious soul food. Their motto has been – We’re a brewery, not fine-dining. Go for the Kudix beers, Toit cheese board, and some woodfired pizzas. Do save some room for desserts, try their layer cake, which is a chocolate cake that’s unlike any you’ve had so far.

Ohh Brewklyn serves the best belgian wit beer, American pale ale and dark beer. Each of them have a unique taste. Some of their signature beers like the Belgian wit beer (aka Brewklyn finest) have a fruity and spicy finish as it contains orange and coriander blend. The venue offers great food options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The pita & spinach corn bites are great to start with. Butter garlic prawns and coastal chicken are non-vegetarians’ dreams. The main course has plenty of exceptional options with Biryani, thin-crust pizzas, Thai food, and more. In the quiet space of JP Nagar 4th Phase lies a building next to a peepal tree that stands out with its unique look – the honeycomb designs that embellish the building and lights up beautifully at night is enough to ignite curiosity and invite you inside. The space is quite large and there’s plenty of seating inside. The brewery is spread over three floors and provides rooftop seating as well. 

The brewery serves some of the best beers in town – apple cider beer, smoked porter, and more. They have some great signature cocktails as well. 

The menu has a variety of innovative dishes from delicious starters to mains and desserts that complement the drinks. They serve mainly Indian, Ind-Chinese, and continental cuisine. Must try the teriyaki glazed chicken and cottage cheese with Plum sauce. If you have room for dessert, try the raspberry lychee panna cotta. They have a buffet too which is around Rs 700 for 2.

Church Street Social

The newly redesigned space is revamped with blue furniture that makes the vibes all the more uber cool. The vibe itself is heady! With that awesome interior, it makes your evening with the drinks and the foods more memorable. The cutleries, bowls, glasses, and mouth-watering starters, and food in it will give you the taste of belonging to the place. Most of their foods are inspired by street food. Work by the day, play by the night, social is one of the best places in Bangalore to hang out and a good watering hole too!

Mick Jaggery is sure to leave you hazed out and heady. There is a lot of query and fresh cocktails on the bar menu, some single malts, blended scotch & whiskey, and many more. The food menu is quite mouth-watering – from crunchy poppadoms to fish & chips, momos, biryanis, and pasta, they have it all. They also host Sunday brunch with amazing pancakes, omelets, soups & salads.

Bangalore’s first Brew park is Uru. The Uru in Bengaluru is a perfect example of Bangalore’s metropolitan mix with nature. This beer garden in JP Nagar has a bistro, gin garden, a park, and a brewery. The open space is perfect to enjoy the Bangalore weather with some great beer and good food. The decor is quite minimal with friendly vibes and a BBQ section. 

The menu of Uru is quite different from the others, with a lot of healthy options going on. It also covers a lot of cuisines – Indian, Burmese, Thai, Chinese, Malaysian, American, Italian, and continental. Try their Gourmet Burgers and URU signature cocktail. Coming to the bar menu, their signature cocktail, Persian rose is a revelation. Even exquisite, a cocktail of Tequila, Kahlua, Cinnamon, coffee & vanilla ice cream is just inescapable. The gin and Tonic are making a query come back here and just adds merrier to your day or night.

For the dessert, the Sacher Torte is an excellent option and completes your day beautifully. Such a unique bar is sure to make you want to come back.

Hard rock cafe

This is every rock music lover’s paradise. The pub houses some great collections of guitars, rock fashion outfits from the 90s all belonging to the famous rock stars, and some photographs of them. It’s a nostalgic feeling, taking you back to the 80s and 90s when rock music was its height of popularity and craze. Expect great music playing here that will make you want to sing along loudly and resist the urge to dance. They also host live music sometimes.

The iconic pub has stone-brick walls, classic interiors, great lighting, and some great beers. Must try the nachos, they’re amazing and come with a great dip. Try the cookie & cream milkshake infused with liquor which will leave you hazed out. Since Hard Rock Cafe is an American pub chain, their cheeseburgers are spot-on!

Tipsy Bull

The quirky interior of Tipsy bull is something to marvel at. Think high ceilings, popping colors, plenty of natural lighting, newspaper caricature wall art on one side and the tall windows that offer a beautiful view of the foliage on the other side, and the balcony has steampunk vibes with a green board on one wall that has math problems sprawled out.
